RRI2SCALE Project Kick-off Meeting, 14-15 January 2020, Rome, Italy

The RRI2SCALE project was launched in a two-day kick-off meeting that was held on 14-15 January 2020 in Rome, Italy. The meeting was hosted by the project coordinator, APRE, and brought together the representatives of the 11 consortium partners from 7 different countries.

The event was an occasion for the organisations involved in RRI2SCALE to meet and discuss in person their expectations for the project, together with the challenges and opportunities related to its implementation. In addition to the consortium partners, the meeting counted with the presence of Mr. Linder Farrer, Policy Officer – European Commission, who joined the meeting via skype and contributed by providing valuable comments. Ms. Niamh Delaney, the Project officer, gave the necessary guidelines to the consortium partners, especially to those without prior experience in the H2020 field.

Over the two days of the meeting, partners presented their respective tasks and contributions to project objectives. The programme also included presentations of pilot cases that will be implemented in the regions of Kriti, Galicia, Hordaland and Overijssel. Innovative ideas ranged from integrating stakeholders into meaningful workshops for the development of responsible research and innovation policies and employing online platform for stakeholder engagement to the formulation of territorial agendas and roadmaps for positive institutional transformation. In some cases, open discussion followed to complement the ideas and provide significant feedback.

Overall, the meeting resulted in many fruitful discussions and represented a promising start to an exciting project!
