GreenTech South West is a community providing insight and thought provoking discussion on how technology can improve the physical environment and battle the issue of climate change.

According to GreenTech, ”The need for tech-solutions in in their approach to reduce the impacts of the current crisis is growing exponentially. One way to enable this is to create technologies that will prompt behavioural changes.”

On the 20th of May, the community will hold an online meet-up with Vanessa Champniss the co-founder of Greener Hours. The Greener Hours app provides a daily personalised low-carbon energy forecast that empower the users to reduce their carbon emissions and to choose to use electricity when it is the cleanest. This event will take place online from 12.30 to 1.30 GMT.

The meet-up will cover the following key points:

  • Use of energy when its cleanest
  • Need for mass-scale mainstream behaviour change
