RRI2SCALE in EWRC: Towards responsible innovation in a nutshell

In ten years’ time, our daily living environment will have changed significantly. How do we co-create sustainable and preferable futures? In the SwafS EU-funded project RRI2SCALE, regional stakeholders from Quadruple Helix are working on responsive innovation agendas at regional scale?

RRI2SCALE will participate and problematise on these aspects in the side events session of the 2021 European Week of Regions Cities, under the title: Towards responsible innovation in a nutshell

Date: 04/11/2021
Time: 09:00 – 12:30 CET

Event details

The event is based on an internal masterclass in which the regions of RRI2SCALE will have already been trained to run their own Multi-stakeholder Dialogue, with the aim to bring together their Quadruple Helix stakeholders while exploring possible futures using the Scenario Exploration System tool that was developed by the JRC. In the training for the European Week of Regions, a tailored programme will be run that allows interaction and getting feedback from a broader audience at European level on our proposed approach. The results and feedback from the half-day training will allow us to calibrate and finalise the training guide. The calibration will eventually allow regional authorities and policymakers throughout Europe to implement their own regional dialogues to move to responsive innovation agendas at the regional scale.

Through inspiration, interaction and exercises, you will be able to familiarise yourself with the core topics related to the designing of responsive innovation agendas at the regional scale. The innovative approach of the event lies in the coupling of RRI with regional smart specialisation, with a thematic focus on smart cities, energy, and transport. Instead of merely presenting conceptual frameworks on the connection between RRI and RIS3, we will present a practical training that you will be able to use to strengthen your own regional innovation through multi-stakeholder partnership.
